Awake

-Are you a God?
- they asked the Buddha.
- No.
- Are you an angel, then?
- No.
- A saint?
- No.
- Then what are you?
-
I am AWAKE.

Matthew 25:40

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Matthew 7 1-6

1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
6. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Pope: Excuses Priests Pedophilia, Child Abuse, and Homosexuality Saying Church Must Reflect On What Allowed Abuse

The Pope blamed the world we live in for the failings of his priests to be priests instead reverting to in most cases the homosexual bastards they really are.  He even says that back in the seventies and I assume earlier pedophilia was acceptable. Perhaps in his world, I don't know.  Is it possible he says this because he was a pedophile too? If you look at the history of the Popes and the Catholic Church sex and perversion in all its forms was rampant almost from day one. Especially in the higher ranks. We've all heard of the Borgia's and their idiocincracy's and most of the rest were no better. If I were Christ, I'd be appalled at the antics of some of those operating my church in my name.

Pope Benedict XVI, framed by Christmas decorations,
delivers his Angelus prayer from his studio window …

AP – By NICOLE WINFIELD, Associated Press Nicole Winfield, Associated Press – Mon Dec 20, 6:56 am ET

VATICAN CITY – Pope Benedict XVI said Monday the Catholic Church must reflect on what is wrong with its message and Christian life in general that allowed for the widespread sexual abuse of children by priests.
While accepting responsiblity for the scandal, Benedict said the abuse must also be seen in the broader social context, in which child pornography and sexual tourism are rampant, and where as recently as the 1970s pedophilia wasn't considered the absolute evil that it is today.
The pope made the remarks to Vatican cardinals and bishops gathered for his traditional Christmas speech, an eagerly anticipated address that Benedict uses to press key issues he wants the church hierarchy to reflect on.
While stressing that most priests do good, honest work, Benedict said revelations of abuse in 2010 reached "an unimaginable dimension" that required the church to accept the "humiliation" as a call for renewal.
"We must ask ourselves what we can do to repair as much as possible the injustices that occurred," Benedict said. "We must ask ourselves what was wrong in our message, in our entire way of configuring the Christian being, that allowed such a thing to occur. We must find a new determination in faith and goodness."
Benedict has previously acknowledged that the scandal was the result of sin within the church and that the church as a result must repent for it and make amends with victims. But Monday's comments suggested that there might be some intrinsic problem with the way Christianity and its message was understood in the modern world that allowed for the abuse to fester unchecked.
The sex abuse scandal, which first exploded in the U.S. in 2002, erupted on a global scale this year with revelations of thousands of victims in Europe and beyond, of bishops who covered up for pedophile priests and of Vatican officials who turned a blind eye to the crimes for decades.
Questions were raised about how Benedict himself handled cases both as archbishop in Munich and as head of the Vatican office that handled abuse cases.
Recently, the Vatican released documentation showing that as early as 1988 then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger sought to find quicker ways to permanently remove priests who raped and molested children in a bid to get around church law that made it difficult to defrock priests against their will.
While Ratzinger was unsuccessful then, Vatican rules now allow for fast-track defrocking. But victims advocates say the Vatican still has a long way to go in terms of requiring bishops to report sex crimes to police and release information and documentation about known pedophiles.

"We know of the particular gravity of this sin committed by priests and our corresponding responsibility," Benedict told the prelates gathered in the frescoed Sala Regia of the Vatican's apostolic palace.
But he said the crimes of the priests also had to be looked at in today's context, where child pornography, drug use, sexual trafficking are to some degree considered normal even though an entire generation of children is being harmed.
"The psychological devastation of children, in which human beings are reduced to a marketplace article, is a terrifying sign of the times," Benedict said.
He said the underlying ideology of such rampant excesses stemmed from the 1970s, when "pedophilia was theorized as something that was in keeping with man and even the child," where nothing was considered good or evil in and of itself but only relative to the circumstances.
"The effects of such theories are evident today," he said.
He called for a renewed sense of morality, stressing absolute good and evil, to guide the faithful.

Lets Talk About The Myth Of Global Warming

As was posted by a well known Global Warming/Climate Change, environmentalist blogger, I'm a climate change denialist, and yes, I know that 99.99999% of you out there think I'm an idiot. Well, maybe not quite that many, actually according to what I've read, there are as many, or more, scientists out there that believe global warming is a myth as there are who believe it's happening. So as a denialist I guess I'm in some pretty impressive company.  But first of all, I don't confirm OR deny that global warming is real, I'm not an expert and only know what I read. What I actually deny, is that it's a manmade problem. My opinion is that we, mankind, have little or no influence on whether the globe warms or cools. It has existed for millions, billions of years and there've been probably hundreds, thousands of ice ages and global warming periods. I read recently that the average global teperature has increased possibly less than 1 degree (farenheit) since 1900.  The industrial revolution started in the mid-1800's so lets say industry has been producing carbon and other contaminents in the atmosphere for 150-160 years or so. Well the last major ice age supposedly ended around 10,000 bc, god knows how many, if any, polar bears or other species, went extinct, we do know that sea levels rose some 300-400 feet, so lots of beach property was under water and thousands, possibly millions, of people were killed. Was man responsible for global warming then too? I personally believe there was a civilization comparable or superior to our own back then or earlier. Maybe they were bulding cars, smolting steel, burning coal and oil to generate electricity, etc.  There's no evidence of that. It seems more likely that then as now, the world was just doing it's thing, and leaving mankind to fend for itself. Yes global warming may be happening, but if so, it's beyond our control, our ability to cause or contribute to the cause and our ability to stop it.
As I said, many scientists consider it, or mans complicity anyway a myth. Let me introduce you to one of them by providing  the link below.

Meet Dr. Claude Allegre one of France's most celebrated scientists, a geochemist who was one of the first to be concerned by what was apparently happening, but then after more evidence was in reversed his position.

Ice Age In The Near Future? Maybe....

Let me preface this, and really I should with every post I do about this world, by saying that it's been, and is being, taught that this world we see, and know or think we know, is maya, a fiction, an illusion, no more real than those worlds we see in our dreams. It's believed by many that this world is a figment of the imagination of, for lack of a better description, a world mind.  That it's created and kept in play by all of us.
With everybody and their brother talking about global warming and polar ice melting and carbon this and polar bears going extinct that, blah, blah you wouldn't think an ice age would be prevelent. But, in the seventies before global warming became the cause celebre and giant money maker that it is, and the political tool that it is, the "science community," was saying that a new ice age was just around the corner. The truth is apparently the average global temperature has come up a whopping 1 degree, or less, farenheit, since 1900. One degree, one whole degree, or less, now that's scary. I hope you'll excuse the sarcasm. So in my opinion global warming is a scam, designed solely to make money and get power for the politicians, "scientists" and business's that promote it and have turned it into the latest witch hunt. Just as many or more scientists call it a fraud, but for the most part they're shouted down and called idiots by the ones that would lose if the truth were accepted and believed by the public, who support monitarily and otherwise the attempt to stop the fictional global warming.
I recently read a book called Atlantis and 2012. It was  interesting and one of the premises was that the Mayans predidictions for 2012 could be an ice age.  In a chapter called "The Great Winter" the author, Frank Joseph, says that we're on the verge of another ice age. He goes on that the last one ended around 9500 BC, and that another is due just now according to paleoclimatologists. That their study of the geologic record indicates that ice ages begin  and end about every 100,000 years, puctuated by less cold... Some researchers conclude the recent past represents a warm interlude in the last ice age, still in progress. He goes on to say that observers participating in the Global Atmospheric Research Program found that only a 1% decrease in the amount of sunlight hitting the earth could tip the balance and precipitate an ice age. They also learned that temperatures have been as high as they are now in only about 5% of the last 700,000 years.
As I said this was interesting but I'll let you read the book to learn the rest.

Anyway, in a happy coincidence a friend emailed me a link to an article that says due to the gulf stream dying due to the dispersants used and the huge amount of oil that escaped in BP's Gulf oil debacle we could see an ice age within a few years or less, part of the article and a link is below...

Life on this Earth Just Changed
The North Atlantic Current is Gone

The latest satellite data establishes that the North Atlantic Current (also called the North Atlantic Drift) no longer exists and along with it the Norway Current. These two warm water currents are actually part of the same system that has several names depending on where in the Atlantic Ocean it is. The entire system is a key part of the planet's heat regulatory system; it is what keeps Ireland and the United Kingdom mostly ice free and the Scandinavia countries from being too cold; it is what keeps the entire world from another Ice Age. This Thermohaline Circulation System is now dead in places and dying in others.
This 'river' of warm water that moves through the Atlantic Ocean is called, in various places, the South Atlantic Current, the North Brazil Current, the Caribbean Current, the Yucatan Current, the Loop Current, the Florida Current, the Gulf Stream, the North Atlantic Current (or North Atlantic Drift) and the Norway Current.
So what does this mean? Violent mixing of the seasons, crop failures, and increased drought and floods in diverse places is now daily news since the April 20th 2010 BP Oil Volcano. They have killed the pacemaker of world climate in the worlds of Dr Zangari PhD. Dr Mike Coffman PhD geologist resource climatologist, and Dr Tim Ball PhD climatologist have confirmed that if this data is correct, that an ice age and massive climate shift with famine is now imminent. We are now seeing Russia stop all delivery of wheat crops on prior contracts, and most sources of staple food crops moving worldwide in a crisis of famine. The Gulf Stream and related currents are effectively DEAD. This should enrage the public and bring forth scientists to challenge and support the data and analysis, for the consequences to the civilization of mankind and ecological collapse have global consequence producing famine, death and massive population migration away from zones of advancing ice age and regions unfit for human habitation. Let us get the facts and call the corporate and government to task on these issues now or face worldwide catechisms of biblical proportions. We shall continue to report with new scientific experts on this most important disaster.

The 'process' of entering a new Ice Age could begin coming upon us in full force (rather like in the movie "The Day After Tomorrow") at any time, or it could take three to five year to fully play out with early glaciation beginning in North America and Europe and Asia this winter (both models have existed in the beginnings of different Ice Ages in Earth's past).

Here is the link:

Here is another link to another article that talks about the same thing from the Activist Post:

http://www.activistpost.com/2010/09/is-day-after-tomorrow-happening-today.html

The whole thing is very interesting, right or wrong.  I hink that an ice age is immenent, probably not tomorrow, but someday, and whether we see global warming or cooling, it's completely natural, not man made, the huge ego of mankind aside. The good news is that either will thin the herd and get rid of a large part of humankind, which can only help the Earth.

Commercial Spoofs TSA Perverts - THIS IS NOT FUNNY OR CUTE

I happened to see a commercial today for Lindt Chocolates. It showed a tennis star going through an airport, when two moderately attractive security girls, discover a stash of Lindt chocolates which they illegally seize, then they say there should be a strip search. I understand it's supposed to be funny and cute, and if it didn't hit so close to the truth it might be, BUT I SEE NO HUMOR IN IT AT ALL, and will not be buying Landt candy, I don't care how good it is. I'm calling for a ban on the purchase of this company's products until they stop this commercial and publicly apologise to all of the people who've been the victims of real TSA goons and perverts.

Perry Mason - The Lawyers Lawyer - The Infuencer of Senators and Judges

Perry Mason AKA Raymond Burr
Perry Mason was always one of my favorite shows. Even today, decades after it went off the air, if I see it's on I'll watch it. I prefer the original series to the later movies, after Mason became a judge and left the bench to defend Della Street. I also have all, or nearly all, of  the 80 some books. In the books you see the real Perry Mason, although from what I've read in some article or other, the author and therefore the one person who really knew Mason, Erle Stanley Gardner said "That's Perry Mason," when he saw Raymond Burr in the role. In the tv show Mason is somewhat one dimensional, in the books you see a multi-dimensional Mason, and other characters.  Most people don't know that the author, Erle Stanley Gardner, had spent years practicing law in California, and the knowledge he gained was put to good use in the  Mason stories, which hinge on valid points of law, forensic medicine or science, as well as occasionally offering legal citations. A self taught lawyer, leaving law school after one month, he was innovative and restless in his nature, Gardner was bored by the routine of legal practice, the only part of which he enjoyed was trial work and the development of trial strategy, this was a trait that he shared with Perry Mason who made no secret, in the books primarily, that the routine, even answering the mail, bored him to tears and some cases were taken on merely because they offered something more interesting.
Erle Stanley Gardner circa 1966
Gardner prefaced many of his novels with tributes to coroners and forensic pathologists whose work was instrumental to solving cases. So his books had a basis in law, which unfortunately never really made it to the tv show, but nobody I ever knew who enjoyed it noticed.
Related to that, Gardner devoted thousands of hours to a project called "The Court of Last Resort", which he undertook with his many friends in the forensic, legal and investigative communities. The project sought to review and, if appropriate, to reverse, miscarriages of justice against possibly innocent criminal defendants who were convicted owing to poor original legal representation or to the inadequate, careless or malicious actions of police and prosecutors and most especially, with regard to the abuse or misinterpretation of medical and other forensic evidence. The resulting 1952 book, not a Perry Mason novel, earned Gardner his only Edgar Award, in the Best Fact Crime category.
Contrary to what everybody believes, Perry Mason did lose three cases of almost 300, which is a record pretty much any lawyer would envy, especially since he got one of his losses reversed on appeal. His losses were: The Case of the Witless Witness, The Case of the Deadly Verdict,  and The Case of the Terrified Typist.
During her Senate confirmation hearings, Sonia Sotomayor revealed that she first became interested in the law while watching the Perry Mason television show and mentioned that he had one guilty client, but couldn't remember which episode it was, even when Al Franken the comedian senator made an issue of it. It sounds odd that she'd admit that I suppose, especially in a confirmation hearing in front of the senate,  but I  personally know several lawyers who admit that Perry Mason, usually the tv show, had something to do with them becoming lawyers, you have to figure if I know a few, there are probably more that Mason influenced, maybe hundreds, or thousands, or tens of thousands, there are a LOT of lawyers. That's not bad for anybody, but really not bad for a fictional character.  I highly recommend that you enjoy the tv show, I do. But if you really want to enjoy and learn from Mason, read the books. If enough do maybe they'll be put back in print.
