As a mam was about to jump from a high bridge into the Chattahoochee River a Southern belle who was passing by stopped and implored him to stop. "Think of your mama," she said. "My mama's dead." he replied. "Think of your wife and children," she begged. "I have neither wife nor child," he replied. Searching for whatever the man might hold sacred she tried again, "Well then, think of Robert E. Lee!" "Who is that?" asked the man. "Oh, go ahead and jump, you damn Yankee," said the woman as she drove away."
