Let me say for myself first, I was working at GE and came home to watch the landing, the thing that sticks in my mind the most, aside from Walter (the most trusted man in America) Cronkite's commentary is that there were dozens if not hundreds of simulations, during all the times the astronauts "weren't available" for whatever reason. Based on what I saw and remember then, it would be easy to think that it was all fake, that the landing never happened, just like in the movie Capricorn One. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist that's just what I believe, have always believed, that it was all simulations and no trip to the moon. I'm not alone by a long shot.
But to be fair, others, many others, believe in the reality of the moon landing. I've been told by people I've talked to that there are too many people involved to keep a secret that big. Also, that there are still astronauts alive who can testify to the reality.
Of course, secrets can be kept, and people can lie, if the reason is good enough. Another point is that more than 800 lbs of moon rocks were brought back, which may be true, but maybe not, after all one rock looks pretty much the same as another to most of us.
Here is a link to an excellent article refuting the conspiracy theory, it's too long to include here. I not as sure after reading it that it was faked, but still not convinced that it wasn't. After all anyone capable of committing a fraud on this scale, would surely be capable of refuting criticism, right? Read that article and the ones below it saying the moon landings are fake, and judge for yourself.
