A Golden Age Is A Comin'.....Or Is It?
December 2012 was the end of the age according to the Mayan calender, at least that's what they're saying now. Last year it was the end of the world, or the end of the world as we know it, depending who you talked to. So far neither has materialized, which is a good thing, or a bad thing again depending on who you talk to, I guess. But think about it, is a golden age even possible today? In a hundred years, or a thousand? Maybe in ten thousand, or fifteen, but not in the immediate future.
Not to sound too negative, but until the current population of crooked, corrupt, and murderous homo sapiens have long exited their earthly existence, and a new species of human has taken their place do I see it happening. We as a species, I've read are one of just two on earth that will kill their own kind for no reason, the other is the rat. Makes you feel good huh? Us and rats.
If you examine history, little as there is, it becomes clear that as long as there've been people, there's been theft, corruption and murder, and not necessarily in that order. To have a golden age, as the few descriptions that exist describe it, is impossible with the people who live today or their descendants, anymore than it could have with their ancestors. There may be, to be fair, some, but few and possibly they're the new species getting a start. But we're destroyers, who belong in the age of iron or Kali, not meant to build a new world in a golden age, we aren't capable.
Think about it....
