Awake

-Are you a God?
- they asked the Buddha.
- No.
- Are you an angel, then?
- No.
- A saint?
- No.
- Then what are you?
-
I am AWAKE.

Matthew 25:40

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Matthew 7 1-6

1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
6. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

God Said: Thou Shalt Not Kill!!! Really? Somebody had better tell most of humanity.

This thought woke me out of a sound sleep this morning. If that being, he/she/it, that we call God did in fact meet with Moses on the mountain and did in fact give him ten commandments and one of those was THOU SHALT NOT KILL, something is very wrong. First of all notice that they were commandments, not rules, not laws, not suggestions, they were COMMANDS. Second notice that it was Thou Shalt NOT Kill, not thou shalt not kill unless, or except, it was NOT.
As to the ten commandments, people, all people, have been cheerfully breaking each on a daily basis since they were given to us. We all say one thing, that we are believers and go to church to demonstrate our belief, and then go ahead and do something else, proving we are not believers at all.
Back to Thou Shalt Not Kill, just that one, shows that all people are evil.
I can't count the times that I've read, in reference to some one hurting or killing another person, he/she should be shot/hung/suffer the death penalty. In other words killed, in direct opposition to what he/she/it/God commanded.
Of course, our predilection to killing each other, is a form of population control. We haven't seen anything like the plague for a long time, it hasn't been needed as we're killing each other instead.
Unfortunately, the thought that woke me up is gone, and I'm starting to flounder.

Murder Is The Norm For Human Beings And Their "Gods"???

I've been reading Zecharia Sitchin's earth chronicles, which started me thinking. Briefly it's about another planet in our solar system and the people who came from there. The planet is named Nibiru and the people called Anunaki. This is all taken from translated clay tablets written by Sumerians and others. The books detail how the Earth is created and how the Anunaki come here about 450,000 years ago in search of  gold to save the atmosphere of their planet. Eventually they create man as a slave species to take over the labor from their own people. Eventually the flood takes place and while man is supposed to be eliminated, he isn't because one of the Anunaki warns a man who builds a boat and saves himself, others, and animal species, aka Noah, or Utnapishtim.  These people, aliens, really are no different than us, their creations, they did everything that we do and probably worse, allegedly before we even were.
After the flood mankind rebuilds. All of this is also related in the Christian bible as I mentioned above in the story of Noah, and in the story of Gilgamesh. Which as I've said before means that the humans, the men and women, that God or the gods, resolved to destroy weren't destroyed. The men and women that were so bad, so destructive, so amoral, so EVIL, that complete destruction, an essentially re-terraforming of the earth to remove a parasite, was the only answer lived on.  God or the gods failed and the parasite went on, WE ARE IT, OR THE DECENDENTS OF IT.
Since this planet became livable, if you read and believe Sitchin, meaning the ancient Sumerians, or if you read and believe the Bible, Koran, Torah, Nevi'im and Ketuvim (which are commonly called the Torah or Jewish bible), or ancient Indian texts Vedas, (  the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda and the Atharvaveda), it becomes clear that while man claims to abhor murder, he/she has been committing murder from day one. That God or the gods kill each other and lesser creatures like us, is the stuff of legend and religious writing. That we kill them, if possible, and ourselves is likewise the stuff of legend, religious writing, and more relevant books, newspapers, tv, radio, popular media in general.
It occurs to me, that the problem may be that we're still locked into a tribal mentality. That we need to learn that the cop that murders an unarmed, or armed person is shooting him/herself, a soldier that murders an enemy kills him/herself, a thief that murders a victim is killing him/herself. We need to learn that there's just one big tribe, and just because you don't know someone they're still a member of your tribe. I don't understand the urge to kill, but it seems that it's an inborn trait of the human. We don't need a reason to murder, we just do it. Murder is normal, not to is, it seems, unusual. True, a lot of people go their entire lives without killing, but that can change in a split second. Actually tribe may be overstating the problem, because how many times does someone murder a family member or friend?
It can be reasoned that murder is a part of the human mentality because it's a form of population control, sort of opposite the other ingrained trait, the urge to fuck, to procreate. Without war, and murder in general this planet would have every square inch covered with people at some point. So, population control, why not? We start to die the second we're born. We convince ourselves that we'll live forever, that we deserve a long life, yet look around you could drop dead any second. Death is just as normal as life. So, what's the big deal if we die in our sleep at eighty or are hit by a car crossing the street, or slip in the bathtub cracking our skull, or pick up a disease as an infant, or are murdered by a cop or criminal? Dead is dead, we all end up there sooner or later, so what difference does it make how we get there?
We are the descendants of the people, for lack of a better term, that God determined to murder, to destroy, the largely corrupt, murderous, sex obsessed people who were supposed to be destroyed in the flood. It's our nature to kill each other, just as apparently it's God's or the god's. We apparently were created in his/her/its image after all.
Priests of all denominations rant in their sermons that killing is wrong and against God's word, yet the next sermon will be a rant for the young men to join the army and murder the enemy, yet somehow these priests fail to see the hypocrisy. All through the legends, stories, religious writings of all types God or gods are murdering all sorts of people for all reasons, for instance when the Jews left Egypt with Moses, God had murdered thousands maybe millions of Egyptians mostly to make a point, then when the Jews were invading the "promised land" God helped them again by murdering thousands perhaps millions of the people that were already there. Murder is the norm, even for God or gods.
Take the instance I've mentioned a couple of times, God or gods, determined to completely eradicate, or murder, the entire population of the earth, for the simple reason that they displeased him or them. The hypocrisy starts there, he/she/it is a murderer, plain and simple, so where does he/she/it get off saying Thou Shalt Not Kill?
Priests, politicians, leaders and pundits all say that murder is against Gods, or the gods, will, that it's wrong, yet at the first opportunity send us off to war, isn't the hypocrisy obvious? Then why don't people see it? For some reason they don't, they buy into it instead.

Is Increased Police Militarization Necessary?

Another article I found posted on Facebook that has a lot to say. I'm making no changes of any kind, just letting it talk...

Is Increased Police Militarization Necessary?

Although there has been no dramatic increase in crime statistics to warrant the increase in police militarization within the United States, police departments continue to outfit themselves with military weaponry. The police in America who now more aptly resemble soldiers, bring with them conflict and tyranny to the streets and our communities.
The consequences of this been an increase in unjustified home invasions, and the murder of innocent people. The home is no longer a safe haven because our guaranteed right to not have our privacy arbitrarily invaded by police is constantly violated. When we see the police, we now feel more fearful than we do protected, in some cases we are more fearful of police than we are of crime. And no matter where you are: you are more likely to be killed by the police than terrorism.
Police frequently execute warrants and initiate raids on the wrong homes. Along with this unacceptable inaccuracy, there is also an unfortunate rise in deaths of numerous dogs at the hands of aggressive (abusive) police tactics. The increased violence is giving rise to a very nervous atmosphere, and hatred for law enforcement officers continues to grow, along with the increase in viral videos and stories displaying examples of police brutality. An investigative reporter, Radley Balko, interviewed several police officers regarding their personal experience with no-knock raids:
“When I interviewed police officers for the book who’ve been on these raids, the words that they would use to describe how they felt during the raids are the same adjectives we use to describe the effects of the drugs that they’re conducting these raids for in the first place. They’re described as intoxicating and [officers claim that they] get this huge rush…it’s a thrill.”
sheriffswatThe numerous declarations by the state, of war against vague enemies like drugs, terror, and crime, have been used to justify further police militarization. Even though it can be argued that these wars cannot be won, and several decades and billions of dollars support that notion, the state continues with the charade. And because of this, these relentless expeditions have blurred the distinction between cop and soldier (Balko, 2013). The increased frequency of unaccountable and heavily armed police raids which are being conducted on homes of unarmed, and non-violent suspects, in the middle of the night, is an alarming misuse of state power.
Why can’t the police conduct their raids during the daylight? Perhaps that might lower the occurrence of innocent bystanders who get terrorized and/or lose their lives. Maybe that would increase the accuracy of entering the correct home that the warrant has been issued for. Apparently, it is much easier to go busting into someone’s home in the middle of the night (Balko, 2013). Granted, there are occurrences when individuals have good interactions with police officers, officers are often shown respect from individuals when they deal with the public in a respectful manner.
The increasing trend has been majorly overlooked by the public and their representatives. A Mayor in Maryland sought an explanation from the federal government as to why SWAT team members had burst into his home without knocking and killed his two dogs, in what turned out to be drug raid ‘mix-up’. In the past decade that has been a 3000% increase in no-knock SWAT team raids. Police are being equipped with body armor, Blackhawk helicopters, armored vehicles, chemical spray, night vision, and even drones. The police are annually looking less like the benevolent keepers of the peace. Today in the United States, SWAT teams are deployed about 100 to 150 times per day.
“It’s really about a lack of imagination and a lack of creativity, when your answer to every problem is more force, it shows that you haven’t been taught and trained to consider other options.” – Norm Stamper, retired Seattle police chief from 1994 to 2000.
It is claimed that the police cannot arrest people in a violence-minimizing manner due to “lack of resources”, but we know that thanks to asset forfeiture and revenue expeditions, like radar and seat-belt traps, police departments are collectively bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars.
But, if they believe the drugs to be in the home, and need to enter in a frenzy to decrease the chances of the suspect destroying any, why not enter the home when the suspect isn’t there? And if the materials are believed to be on the person, why not arrest them in the daylight when their actions are more visible, to notice if they discard of any substances? Most instances do not call for extreme violence, especially when the identity or guilt of suspects is remotely unsure, and especially shouldn’ be used in regards to matters of personal choice.
Some suggestions to curb further militarization of America’s multiple police forces, include:
End The War On Drugs
Prohibition has proven to be ineffective at eradicating or preventing drug use, and the goal of ending drug use and production is seemingly impossible.
End anti-drug Byrne Grants
These grants create federal incentives for further militarization, and also create multi-jurisdictional drug task forces, who often lack any real accountability or oversight.
End The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Program
When police departments reach a threshold of drug arrests, the agency becomes eligible for more federal funding, which encourages more aggressive enforcement of drug laws.
End Civil Asset Forfeiture Program
Police departments seize a variety of items that are believed to be connected to ‘drug activity’ such as: cash, cars, homes, boats, bikes, and jewelry. This has obviously created a lucrative incentive for police to send SWAT teams to conduct routine raids to serve drug warrants. One thing is for sure: police militarization is bad for everyone and is a greater danger to our freedom and health than “terrorism”.

Humanity Is Evil, Or To Paraphrase Pogo I Met The Devil And He Is Us

Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin
Humanity is evil. Yes, I know that's an extreme statement and position. I know none of us think we personally are evil. But at the same time, we can all name someone who we personally consider evil. It may be someone we know, or know of, someone in history but there's someone, sometimes several or even many some ones. Let me say upfront that I'm not saying all individuals are knowingly evil, there's the Mother Teresa, the Mahatma Gandhi, and others. Jesus, and Mohamed weren't, but of those that followed and started their churches some are, in fact depending on how you define it, possibly most are, but not all, at least I don't think so. At the same time we have to accept that humanity as a whole is evil. I understand that is illogical, but let's say you've been good your whole life, you've never committed an evil deed, does that mean you aren't evil after all? No, everyone no matter how good on the surface has the potential for doing evil, even Gandhi, who I personally consider a saint, or Mother Teresa, who many consider a saint, have suppressed the evil in their natures, if something had been different, who knows what the difference may have been?
Even many of those that clearly aren't may condone, even encourage, those that are, which is an evil itself.
Isn't killing someone in the gas chamber or electric chair evil? Isn't an eye for an eye evil? Isn't the belief that it's ok to murder someone who's different from you evil? Well it's also evil for a cop, whether local or FBI to kill

FBI Murders at Branch Davidian Compound
someone armed or unarmed. But they do it dozens of times a day, every day. Each one believes he/she is good, and would absolutely deny being evil, but they are nevertheless evil, with a capital E.  In the Ten Commandments, God said thou shalt not kill, he/she/it did not say thou shalt not kill, except, or thou shalt not kill unless, it was thou shalt not kill, period. Evil humanity starting with the Jews who were with Moses immediately started looking for a way around it. In fact according to the Bible God broke the commandment him/her/itself. Is God evil too? Again, according to the Bible, we, humanity, were made in their image, so it's logical to believe that if we're evil, they, who or whatever they are, are too.Evil is a small and simple word that defines many aspects. Some aspects are so noticeable that there's no question, others are so small, so subtle, so ordinary that they're hardly noticeable.
According to Zecharia Sitchin, Link to the Sitchin website we, humanity, were created yes, but not by God as
Zecharia Sitchin

we are taught. Sitchin was a brilliant man, who among other things, was able to translate ancient Sumerian tablets. The story they told, which he interpreted was that this planet was visited 4-500 million years ago by people from another world looking for gold. They came and stayed, setting up cities, and mines.  Eventually those workers they'd brought in over time to do the work rebelled against having to do the dirty work while the others lounged by the pool drinking martini's and working on their tan's, so to speak. I'm being somewhat facetious but that's the basic idea. Anyway, someone came up with a bright idea. There were they'd seen, primates on this world. I'm not clear if they were apes or an earlier version of man, but in any case they came up with the idea of using these primates as slaves. So, you see, slavery has been with us  for millions of years. According to this, these people wanting worker slaves, took the primate into their lab and using their own DNA modified that of the primates, "in their own image" creating a new being that was if not the same, similar to themselves. If we believe the tablets these people are guilty of every sin in the ten commandments, and more. They're killers, adulterers, wage war, and more. These are who our possibly  genetically modified ancestors came to believe were gods, our gods. Is it any wonder that we're a screwed up and murderous race, and always have been?

American Civil War Battle
Many people blame our leaders for the wars and graft and greed, but they're really nothing more than a reflection of us as a species. I chose to use the pictures of Hitler and Stalin to represent the evil of humanity, but they're simply two of many, too many. To be truly accurate there'd have to be pictures of every leader from before written history to the most recent, including our own murderous leader Obama the Mundane. They're all murderers, at the very least, usually worse, everyone from the worst to the least. Are the "average people," the so called masses, the Joe Six packs any better?  Not really, they're the Romans that cheered as the lions shredded the Christians, the Jews that condemned Christ to the cross, the Egyptians that used slaves to build the pyramids among them Jewish slaves, and later chased and at the least meant to kill them as Moses led them to the Red Sea, they're the Europeans that
World War I (the war to end all wars)
invaded the middle east murdering and stealing in the name of Christ and the Catholic Church, they're the Mohammedans that murdered the invading Europeans during the crusades, they're the armies murdering each other on both sides of  the American Civil War, WWI and II, on and on and on. Let's face it we the human race have proved ourselves to be consistent in one area only, the area of evil, we've been evil since day one. Since day one, we talk a game of goodness and godliness, but every time it comes right down to it, given a choice, humanity will pick evil every time every time. It's said that we're in the Kali Yuga, or the age of Iron, according to Hesiod a Greek philosopher,Hesiod finds himself in the Iron Age. "During this age humans live an existence of toil and misery. Children dishonor their parents, brother fights with brother and the social contract between guest and host (xenia) is forgotten. During this age might makes right, and bad men use lies to be thought good. At the height of this age, humans no longer feel shame or indignation at wrongdoing; babies will be born with gray hair and the gods will have completely forsaken humanity: "there will be no help against evil.""
The Kali Yuga is essentially the same thing, humanity's dark age, except it's the fourth age not the fifth. Don't misunderstand, the previous ages people were warlike, killers, but in this age worse.
Humanity is evil, and has been from day one, however long ago that was.
To go back to the common man, these are the "good Germans," who did the work of processing millions of people into the ovens in WWII Germany. Did they consider themselves evil? No, if you asked they were doing their jobs, following orders. The men in the Roman Empire who whipped and crucified thousands, perhaps millions of people both innocent and guilty, did they consider themselves evil? If you asked, and got an answer no they were just doing their jobs, following orders. In more modern times here in the USA, every day, it seems, police are killing, shooting, murdering, but do they consider themselves evil? Again if you ask and don't get tazed or shot for your effort, they'll say no, just doing their jobs, following orders.
At wartime in particular, but in reality anytime, priests and ministers speak for, even encourage young men and boys to join the military, to fight and kill other young men and boys, whose own priests and ministers had encouraged them, I'm sure. Priests and ministers who according to their own beliefs, at least beliefs they claim, or pretend to claim, should be condemning war and killing, and encouraging these young men and boys to run away, anything but kill. But, no they don't, instead they deliberately and hypocritically encourage war and killing, as well as those other sins that go along. Do they teach that killing is wrong? Maybe, but they clearly don't believe it, do they? Instead, from the pope, to the lowliest tent preacher, they promote abuse, and murder.
Politicians are the same, but worse. It's they that start, and prolong the wars, the
crime. Whether you're speaking about WWI and II, Korea, Vietnam, any of the Middle East wars, the illegal wars of the Bush's and Obama, every one lies at the doorstep of a politician. Every life that's lost, whoever it is, if soldier or civilian, every crime committed, every abuse, every atrocity, every act of evil no matter if committed by friend or foe lies on the back of the politicians who are responsible, even more so than on the backs of those who approve or commit the atrocities. Name a politician high or low who promoted evil in even a small way, and you've named a candidate for eternity in Hell, assuming Hell exists.
So, in conclusion, we humanity are evil, we humanity were created evil, we humanity were given the possibility of  salvation by the son, we humanity hung him from a cross and laughed before committing even more evil. Think about it...

A Question Occurs to Me

Watching a movie from 1941, as it ended something came on the screen that brought a question to mind. It was a plea for the audience to buy War Bonds. Parents put Gold Stars in their windows. There were canteens in every town. There were movies, radio shows, books.  A member of the military could go anywhere and be befriended. Not anymore.
My question is this, if all the wars this country has manufactured since WWII were SO important. If our very survival as a nation was at stake. Why isn't the public being asked to support them too? I believe the German and Japanese of the WWII era were evil personified. This was a legitimate war, a necessary war, our last.
I guess the answer is that simple, in the days since, all wars have been created simply to make money. The politicians, the corporations, the banks, Wall Street, they all fill their pockets. Everyday people, see their sons, and now daughters, murdered.
What fascinates me is that all the kids who in the sixties and seventies objected, shouting ban war. All those who said they'd never make the same mistake as their parents and grandparents, those of us from the Age of Aquarius," are now responsible for allowing this country to currently be in six, or is it seven, wars. Just like in the sixties the rich keep their kids out, so they can become the new generation of warmongers, the average people see theirs die.
The good news is that in today's wars, the total murdered are fewer than those killed in a few minutes in earlier wars. Which is not even counting the millions of civilians and foreign military murdered by Bush, Obama, and others who went before. Not much comfort to any of their their families though. The biggest industry in this country is war, the second biggest is prisons. Says a lot doesn't it? The truth is our "leaders" are too stupid to do  anything else, I guess.

Let's Talk About A New Illegal Obama War

Let's talk about Libia, Mr. Hussein Obama's very own attempt to become a war president. For this one he doesn't have to admit that George 2nd actually started it, and that he's simply carrying it forward. This one is his alone. Following is part of an article   Link to the Activist Post  on the Activist Post. I've only shown the paragraphs that caught my eye, click on the link to read the whole article.
Tripoli, Libya At ten a.m. Tripoli time on 6/28/11 the Libyan Ministry of Health made available to this observer its compilation entitled “Current Statistics Of Civilian Victims Of Nato Bombardments On Libya, (3/19/11-6/27/11).

Before releasing their data, which will be made public this afternoon, it was confirmed by the findings of the Libyan Red Crescent Society and also by civil defense workers in the neighborhoods bombed, and then vetted by researchers at Tripoli’s Nassar University.
As of July 1, 2011, military casualties have not been officially released by the Libyan armed forces.
In summary, the MOH compilation documents that during the first 100 days of NATO targeting of civilians, 6121 were killed or injured. The statistical breakdown is as follows: 3093 Men were injured and 668 were killed. Women killed number 260 and 1318 injured. Children killed number 141 and 641 injured.
Of those seriously injured 655 are still under medical care in hospitals while 4,397 have been released to their families for outpatient care.
NATO's claims that private apartments and homes, schools, shops, factories, crops, and warehouses storing sacks of flour were legitimate military targets are not believed by anyone here in Libya. To date NATO has failed to provide a scintilla of evidence that the 15 civilians, mainly children and their aunts and mothers, who were torn to pieces by 8 NATO rockets in the Salman neighborhood last week were legitimate military targets.

What we either never knew or have forgotten is like many leaders in the mideast, Gadhafi was once the darling of the USA, and the west. A quote from Wikipedia explains:

"On 1 September 1969, a small group of junior military officers led by Gaddafi staged a bloodless coup d'état against King Idris while he was in Turkey for medical treatment. His nephew, the Crown Prince Sayyid Hasan ar-Rida al-Mahdi as-Sanussi, was formally deposed by the revolutionary army officers and put under house arrest; they abolished the monarchy and proclaimed the new Libyan Arab Republic.[30]
A plan to use mercenaries to restore the monarchy was organised by David Stirling, founder of the British Special Air Service, who had been approached by a member of the royal family. The plan — dubbed "Hilton Assignment" in an ironic reference to Libyan jails — was to spring 150 political prisoners from Tripoli jail as a catalyst for a general uprising; the mercenaries were to slip away quietly as the locals took over. Despite Stirling's confidence, the plan was called off at a late stage by the British Secret Intelligence Service, allegedly because the United States government judged that Gaddafi was sufficiently anti-Marxist and thus acceptable"

Like the Shah, Hussein, and countless others, our presidents (they could lay it on their minions, like others of their cowardly ilk, but as Truman said, "the buck stops here," use, and use, and use, until there is no use left, and then they call these same men a danger to Homeland (read Fatherland or Motherland depending on which president) security, and send (one part of the US version of the Gestapo) the CIA to create a revolution, or possibly just to assasinate him.

Here's another article I found today on NewsMax.  Link to Article   I'm not posting it because it's too long, but I suggest you read it.  In brief it says, that Gadhafi broadcast that if Nato doesn't backoff he'll take their war to Europe. Could we be headed to WWIII, thanks to Obama?  It also says that the world court has issued arrest warrents for Gadhafi, his son, and another man. Stating crimes against humanity. If this relatively little guy is guilty of war crimes or crimes against humanity, then why hasn't this same court issued warrants for Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama at the very least? All are guilty of far greater crimes against humanity, just the crime of murder numbers in the millions. But the world court, the same as Nato, is controlled by the US, so that's unlikely, not impossible, but highly unlikely.
Something to think about, is this the USA that you were born in?

PS
A U.S. drone aircraft fired on two leaders of a militant Somali organization tied to al-Qaeda, apparently wounding them, a senior U.S. military official familiar with the operation said Wednesday.

The strike last week against senior members of al-Shabab comes amid growing concern within the U.S. government that some leaders of the Islamist group are collaborating more closely with al-Qaeda to strike targets beyond Somalia, the military official said. U.S. drones target two leaders of Somali group allied with al-Qaeda  The airstrike makes Somalia at least the sixth country where the United States is using drone aircraft to conduct lethal attacks, joining Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Iraq and Yemen. And it comes as the CIA is expected to begin flying armed drones over Yemen in its hunt for al-Qaeda operatives.

My feelings about people

I'm told that my opinion that humanity is evil is obvious from my posts. Let's take a look at that. I do not think individuals are evil. I know a great many people who have nothing but the best intentions and wouldn't dream of committing an act of bad let alone evil. But sometimes evil isn't in the intentions. Our leader the great Obama, think of the great Oz a little man behind the curtain fooling everyone with an amplified voice into believing he was more than he was, may have the best intentions in the world and wouldn't dream of doing evil himself, doesn't in fact that he's capable of it. No more that George the Second, or George the First, or any of the others think they're committing an evil act, but they are, and by endorsing, or even by not rejecting, them we've become complicit in their evil and become equally responsible for the evil they've committed.
I'm not going to discuss fate, or karma, or illusion, let's assume that these acts of murder committed by our leaders through their willing and unwilling accomplices are real and have real consequences ending innocent, and not so innocent lives some of whom would murder us for no better a reason, forever. Doesn't that make humanity evil?

Are Our "Leaders" Evil? Just Ignorant Murderers? Or Both?

First let me say, pertaining to the title, I'm not limiting myself to the great Obama, or George the Second, or any other American, per se. I mean all leaders of all nations throughout all of our, humanity's, known and probably unknown, history.
I wrote a comment on a friends blog and the last sentence I wrote started me thinking.  I said: "If you people want to do something productive, why not stop worrying so much about the symbol that's on a memorial or grave of people killed in a war, and instead worry about how to stop the war and killing? More of us would thank you, I think..."
Stopping all wars, forever. A great though radical idea I admit. It'll probably never happen, because it seems to be the first resort of all "leaders" throughout history. Have a problem, declare war. It's all they know, kill, kill, kill.  Unfortunately, the murderous leaders like Obama, both Bushes, and all the rest, go on and on. They murder millions of others, both soldiers and civilians, but they live and go on, serial murderers to the end, making Jack the Ripper and Ted Bundy seem like pikers.
Granted, our murderous leaders love for war, and other killing, is a reflection of that same love in humanity itself. With the exception that most people don't have the opportunity of indulging it to the same extreme. If I, or any other normal human ordered, or caused the death of one, let alone millions, it would result in being hauled up on murder charges, and possibly the death sentence, or life in prision, which is worse in my opinion.  In the case of Obama, Bush, and thousands of others throughout history, they get away with it by saying it's necessary.  Ordering other willing, and unwilling, accomplices to do the acual evil.  But that doesn't absolve their own evil at all, if anything it makes it worse using their power to force others to become complicit in their own evil.
Do they try to resolve the problem by talking? Well there is diplomacy, for all the good it does, or has done.  Usually the diplomats are more effective at ending the war, after many millions have been murdered in the name of someones national, "homeland," security.
I've said before, if our leaders insist on war, lets put the two leaders, presidents, kings, emporers, dictators, whatever, in a ring, or closed room, give each a sword, knife, or gun. Whoever walks out wins the war.  I guarantee that if it was done this way, war would end, well maybe not, but it would result in no serious or important deaths.
Off the point, I've never understood the absolute reverence that most people have for a man that's elected for a four year term. Not a king, not an emporer, although many see themselves that way. I see them as really no different than the CEO of a large corporation, although few, if any, would have the ability to run even a mom and pop grocery store, let alone a large corporation.
They mostly seem to be trained liars. Lawyers and professional politicians or both, fitted, by training, experience, and natural ability or talent, for lying. Telling us what they think, or are told, we want to hear, not caring at all what really happens to anyone else, just themselves.
Some people say that war, like disease, and natural disaster, is just a means of population control. I'll grant you, it does seem to function as a method of population control. Would the world be even more overpopulated without war? Wouldn't nature have compensated for not having it? Science if we can believe them, is working on hundreds and thousands of cures for disease, they've even found one or two. But the biggest disease of them all, killing each other at the smallest, or even no, excuse is ignored.
This country has existed for more than two hundred years, in all that time, there has been almost never a time without war, of some kind. Acknowledged civilization has existed for around 6000 years or so, and in all that time there has never been a time without war of some kind or other.  If you take it back through the mists of time thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, of years to when humanity began, when we were maybe swinging in trees, living in caves, or whatever is our accepted beginning, humans were killing humans. Nothing has changed it seems except the ever larger numbers.

War - Right or Wrong? Legal or Illegal? Moral or Immoral?

I was watching TCM and they showed a short from WWII staring Bette Davis. She was pushing War Bonds. This started me thinking. I've thought about this a lot over the years, and talked about it too.
When I was a kid war, serving in a war (serving your country), being wounded or killed in a war, was glorified. Glorified in TV, movies, books, glorified by our whole civilization, with the exception  of many of the men and women who'd actually been there, who didn't glorify it at all.  Of course, it's natural and neccesary to glorify your son or daughter, your husband or father, your relative or friend that fought for his or her country and possibly was injured or killed doing it. It's natural to call that heroic, what else would you say.
When I was a kid we read about wars in history, Charlemaigne, the Romans, the Knights and their crusades, on and on, and again it was glorified, but to most of us they weren't real, they were just stories, not real men and women being killed. I know of relatives of mine that fought in the Spanish American War, my maternal grandfather fought in the First World War, my paternal uncle and several other relatives, my aunt who's my mothers sister,  fought in the Second World War, my father and uncle my mothers brother were in the Korean War.  They were real, but still stories in some sense. In my family, like most others, they joined and fought because they'd been taught over generations of history, stories, books, and later movies, radio and tv, that serving their country was a noble sacrifice, and to be wounded or killed was the ultimate nobility. True? Maybe if the wars were necessary and not the result of political maneuvering.
Unfortunately most, if not all, wars, not just recent, but throughout history, are the result of political maneuvering, absolutely. Unnecessary and evil, but portrayed to the public, who will be the soldiers, the ones wounded and killed, as well as the survivors, together with parents, husbands, wives, children, relatives, that it was necessary and good.
I wish I could tell you the real reasons for the wars throughout history, but I don't know, maybe nobody does really. I'm sure there are, or were, reasons.  Quarrels among the royals, revenge, invasions and advantage of one kind or another, all of these reasons and more. Good reasons probably for the kings, emporers, presidents, or politicians responsible for murder in the guise of patriotism, but maybe not so good for the millions of victims on all sides. And there are, were, victims. Millions, hundreds of millions of innocents, killed by a few, relatively, leaders. Kings, Emperors, Pharohs, Tsars, Shahs, Caliphs, Politicians of every stripe and nationality, mostly old men, some who themselves had fought in someone else's war and survived, sent the young men, and now women to fight for them.
Is there a purpose beyond the lies told us to get us to fight? Well, population control, how about that? If you think the world's overpopulated now, just think what it'd be like without the wars. I seriously doubt that the murderers had any motive as theoretically noble as population control. More likely the

Well I finished this post, but for some reason this is all that f---king blogger had saved. I thought it was done and hit publish post, and blogger said it couldn't, so I clicked the back arrow and this above is all there was, nothing of the rest that I'd written, and frankly, I couldn't do it again the same way, so I'm publishing this... Isn't blogger great?????

Thou Shalt Not Kill - How?

Well, I talked pretty good awhile back about how humans ignore God's 6th commandment and kill, kill, kill. Let's look a little deeper. I think I called it a rabid dog murderous nature of 99.9% of human beings, recently. As you can probably tell, that's a pet peeve of mine. Truthfully I didn't always feel that way, and even today, insects, flies and moths in particular that get in the house, or in my way, aren't safe around me. So let's face it, all human beings, with the alleged rare exception, are killers, murderers, even if it's something as small and insignificant as a fly.
Is there a way for humanity to live without killing? I honestly don't have a clue. We all, Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. accept the idea of thou shalt not murder, in theory. But in practice, in real life, it's an accepted and easy way to solve problems, personal problems, and national or diplomatic problems. It may be a fight in a bar, gang wars, a world war or a police action, or "The State," meaning all of us killing a killer, how is that for hypocrisy?
In church, mosque, or temple, we all say Thou Shalt Not Kill, or words to that effect. Since all of our religions are built on previous civilizations going who knows how far in the past, this is not a new thought, but what do you find looking back, murder, assassination, war, and it's been going on as long as there have been people, apparently.  Buddhists are anti-killing, perhaps more than any of the rest of us, but being human even most Buddhists will kill too, if no more than stepping on an ant, or swatting a fly. The Buddha himself was reputed to be against killing even an ant. I will say that a friend mentioned, and I agree so far as I know Buddhism is the only religion that has never been responsible for, declared, or started a war. But again, they are human, which means with an inborn prediliction for killing, so I could be wrong.
I just watched a short on TMC that was about a couple that immigrated to the US from Poland in the 1850's, they became citizens, became small farmers, had children, and when the Civil War came along he enlisted in the North to fight for his country. It said that he'd said he'd give his good right arm, for his country, and he did. Then it jumps to the Spanish American war and this man told his sons that they must enlist and fight for their country, they did and some didn't come home, then WW1 and WW2 same thing, this family proudly sending it's sons, and daughters, to work,  fight and die for their country.  In my family too, and in most, if not all, of those I know, it's the same story.  We fight for our country, some because we want to, some because we have to, some because we think we should.  Our parents, relatives, political leaders, priests and pastors, girlfriends and wives, everybody it seems, encourage us to do it. It's patriotic or protecting our family, or just the thing to do. At the same time ask any one of that myriad of people if killing is wrong, they'll say yes. Hypocrisy raises its ugly head.  Ask them if they believe in the 10 Commandments, they'll say of course, some, not many, would say  yes killing is wrong, period, yet others would say but in this case, or that case, it's necessary. Too many though have never given it a thought and see no need to, killing another person is like swatting a fly, easy.
Gandhi who in my opinion was a modern saint,  is the only leader that comes to mind who truely abhorred killing, which didn't prevent the Hindus and Moslems from killing each other. But he never accepted it, he came close to death several times starving himself in protest.  Well I've talked long enough for now.
