There it is, once again a murderous cop who has a history of felonious behavior, felonious that is if he, or she, were anyone without that magical badge. As it is though, that magical badge keeps the cop from being punished even after committing a murder. Of course in this case there was an accessory before the fact in the person of the neighbor Megan O'Malley, who called the police and thereby caused the death of an innocent unarmed man, and almost caused the death of her own husband by her naive behaviour.
It'd be one thing if this was truly an aberration, but this cop Heimsness has a history of police abuse, and in spite of this history the Chief of Police and the District Attorney decided to hold Heimsness harmless in the commission of what for anyone else, without the aforementioned magical badge, would have been murder.
Here is an article in a newspaper about this crime, although to some it wasn't a crime, it depends whether or not you're a cop/DA or not, I guess. The article comes down on the side of the cop but what else would you expect? I had posted the article here as being slanted but somewhat informative, but upon being "asked politely" by Jason Joyce, (whose comment is attached), to remove it and substitute a link and short summary, I have, although forgoing the summary, unless you'd consider the first two sentences of this paragraph it, but here is the link.
I also had included the petition, but removed it also, since contacted by Mr Joyce, because I'm feeling annoyed and petty, but rather than delete the whole post I left the links above. Annoyed or not I think the acknowledgement of another murder by cop is still important, or should be, no matter how it's done, contrary to what Mr. Joyce apparently feels.
