Watching the documentary Woodstock - Then and Now on tv last night I couldn't help but think that that crowd of a half million, hippies, radicals, anti-war demonstrators, dope smoking and snorting, and shooting freaks, rock loving, long haired, skinny dipping YOUNG people are now the middle aged to elderly people who are largely the ones that are destroying this country. Back then they were outraged by the way their elders ran the country, by the attitudes of the leaders, by the war that was claiming the lives of young people like themselves, by the elders condemnation of drugs, their elders belief that drugs were wrong, evil. They believed pretty much everything that came before was wrong. They were the generation that was going to fix the world, the love generation, the age of aquarius. Yet today they have become their parents, that older generation that they hated and despised. They've become the very people they feared when they were young, the people running the country, that are sending the young men, and women, to an illegal war, as illegal as they themselves believed Vietnam to be, to be killed, the people who now believe drugs are wrong, evil. The circle is complete.

I think I'd make one change to this as posted. NOT moderate republicans, but still radical, just radical in how they see other people and their level of fear. They fear to the point that they're willing even eager to force the TSA on the rest of us, that they're willing to have our police and military murder and/or torture innocent people under the guise of wars on drugs and terror. It really doesn't matter who or where they'll murder to save themselves, even though they're in no danger at all.
